Home/Capabilities

Everything between the field and the vessel.

Four capabilities, run in-house. Where we use a partner — freight forwarding, marine insurance, third-party laboratory work — we say so, and you deal with our desk rather than theirs.

Farmers working a field during the growing season ORIGIN  Nine producing states

Capability 01

Origination

Buying is the quality decision. By the time a commodity reaches an open market it has been blended, re-bagged and re-priced, and its history is gone. Our field agents buy at farmgate in the producing states, against a register of growers we have worked with across seasons.

Coverage

Field teams across nine producing states in the north and middle belt.

Register

Grower name, community, plot and season-by-season delivery history.

Pricing

Published farmgate price boards, settled same-day on delivery.

Advances

Seed, bagging and drying mats issued pre-season against harvest.

Capability 02

Processing

A lot arrives from the farm and leaves as a contract grade. Intake weighing and moisture check, mechanical drying where the crop needs it, destoning, de-hulling on the lines that call for it, sortex or hand sorting, then grading and bagging to the packing spec.

Intake

Weighbridge, moisture probe and visual grade at the gate; rejected loads go back.

Drying

Mechanical and raised-rack drying to bring moisture under contract ceiling.

Cleaning

Destoning, de-stemming, air separation and magnetic pass.

Sorting

Optical sortex for oilseeds; supervised hand sorting for calyx and split ginger.

Bagging

Net-weighed, stitched, stencilled and stacked by lot number.

Capability 03

Quality assurance

Quality assurance sits outside the sales line and can stop a lot leaving the yard. Samples are drawn on a fixed pattern at intake, after processing and at stuffing, and the certificate of analysis is issued against the lot that actually ships — never against a representative sample from another consignment.

Sampling

Fixed-pattern draw at intake, post-process and at container stuffing.

In-house

Moisture, purity, foreign matter, admixture, bean and nut counts, cut tests.

Third party

SGS, Bureau Veritas or Cotecna inspection on buyer’s instruction and account.

Aflatoxin

Tested where the destination market sets a limit; results issued with the CoA.

Retention

Sealed retention samples held against every shipped lot for the contract period.

Capability 04

Logistics & documentation

Most claims are documentary, not agricultural. We prepare the full export set in-house, book freight directly with the line, supervise stuffing, and route documents to your bank against the instrument agreed in the contract.

Load ports

Apapa and Tin Can Island, Lagos; Onne and Calabar for eastern-belt cargo.

Freight

Booked directly with the carrier; no undisclosed forwarder margin.

Stuffing

Supervised, tallied and photographed; seal number recorded on the documents.

Document set

Invoice, packing list, bill of lading, Certificate of Origin, NAQS phytosanitary, CoA, fumigation and weight note.

Instruments

L/C at sight, cash against documents, or agreed terms for repeat counterparties.

Standards

The regimes we work to.

Registrations and certificates are issued per company and per shipment. We will send current copies with any first quotation rather than ask you to take a logo on a website as evidence.

Company registration, NEPC certificate, facility photographs, references from current counterparties — all of it goes out on request.
